The Kittens Stay!

January 27, 2012

One of my favorite websites is Letters of Note.  Today they have a letter from Mark Twain which he posted permanently on his front door after his home was burgled in 1908.

Oh Sam, I think I love you. Take what you will, but don’t disturb the kittens.

A lot to love about Mark Twain, this is one of my favorites:
“The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven, not man’s.”

    Letter to W.D. Howells, 2 April 1899

    I can only agree.

I will be reading that website now too….it’s great! Just read a Kurt Vonnegut letter that is new to me…thank you.

My sign says “No Trespassing” followed by one that says “Nothing on this property is worth dying for” printed on a target silhouette from the NRA. Criminals and psychopaths don’t understand innuendos very well.
